Augustus F Tyler was born in 1832 in Guilford, North Carolina. He married Sarah Ann Ogle and they had four children together. He then married Sarah T. Davis on March 31, 1875, in Harrison, Kentucky. He died in October 1879 in Cynthiana, Kentucky, at the age of 47.

In the past I have found articles saying that he was a teacher. One article said he led the Cynthiana schools. And in one I just found and posted, he was listed as a teacher in Oddville. This of course would be after the War but before 1879, his death. Do you know of a list of teachers at the Oddville school?
