Established in 1793 and chartered along the South Fork of the Licking River, Cynthiana, KY, was named by founder Robert Harrison for his daughters, Cynthia and Anna
. Known as “The Maiden City,” this historic town played a key role in the Civil War, hosting two major battles in 1862 and 1864.
