Jesse P. Green & Nancy to Robert S. Haviland
Property in Harrison County. Robert was living in Fayette County, KY, at the time.
This is Robert’s return to Harrison County in what will become Havilandsville.
This Indenture made this sixteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty one between Jesse P Green and Nancy his wife of the County of Harrison and Commonwealth of Kentucky on the one part and Robert S Haviland of the County of Fayette and Commonwealth aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth: That the said Jesse P Green & Nancy his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred Dollars Current money of Kentucky to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained & sold and by these presents doth grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said Robert S Haviland his heirs and assigns all that Tracts or parcel of Land situate and being in the County of Harrison on the waters of Richland Creek containing sixty two Acres one Rood and twenty six poles and bounded as follows To wit: Beginning in the middle of Richland Creek corner of George King’s land and up said Creek S. 23 E. 32 poles to a Buckeye and white Hickory on an island thence N. 30 ½ E. 134 poles to a Hickory two Sugar trees and a white Oak also corner of said Kings land thence N. 45 W. 62 poles to an ash and Boxalder in Richland Creek thence up said Creek S. 76 W. 76 poles to an ash White Oak and Sugar tree on the North Bank thence up said Creek to an Elm and Honey locast on and is land thence up said Creek 42 poles to the place of Beginning containing sixty two acres one Rood and twenty six poles be the same more or less – together with all and singular the premises thereunto belonging or in any wise appurtaining: To have and to hold the land hereby conveyed with the appurtenances unto the said Robert S Haviland his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Jesse P Green & Nancy his wife for themselves their heirs Executors and administrators the aforesaid tract of Land and premises unto the said Robert S Haviland his heirs or assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever doth and will forever defend by these presents. In Witness whereof the said Jesse P Green and Nancy his wife hath hereunto set their hands and seals the day and date first above written

This Deed of conveyance Jesse P Goren and Nancy his wife to Robert S Haviland was acknowledged before me by the said Jesse P Green and Nancy his wife being first privily Examined by me separate and apart from her husband declared that she did willingly sign and deliver the said writing and acknowledged the same which was again shown and explained to her to be her own act and Deed and wishes not to retract it but Consenteth that the same may be recorded. – Att.
