Thomas and Hannah are both buried in the burying-ground which was on their place in Rye. Third Generation  30 THOMAS HAVILAND, son of Benjamin (4) and Abigail (Mott) Haviland, was b. 25 of 5 mo., 1700, probably in Rye, after his father had left Flushing. He died April 5, 1762, in Rye. He m. first, 9 of 1 mo., 1721, at Flushing, Hannah, born Flushing July 20, 1700; died 21 of Nov., 1724, in Rye; daughter of Benjamin and Hannah (Bowne) Field of Bayside, Flushing. Thomas and Hannah are both buried in the burying-ground which was on their place in Rye. There was no issue from this marriage.  Thomas m. second, 13 of 10 mo., 1724, Sarah Sloidg, who d. in Rye 23 of 2 mo., 1731, and is buried by the first wife of her husband. The three children named below are not mentioned in the will of Thomas, but are named in the Bible record written by Thomas himself. Y., 19 of 9 m., 1792, and was buried in Purchase Friend&#8217;s Burying-ground, near her former husband.  Among the minutes of the Mamaroneck M. M. is the following: &#8220;13 of 10 m., 1733 Thomas Hevalin and Jane Stevenson came before this meeting and declared theier intentions of marriage for the 1st time. Thomas Franklin and Anthony Field were appointed to inquire into his clearness and Elizabeth Bergen and Abigail Thomas into hers. Fourth Generation  90 JAMES HAVILAND, son of Thomas (30) and Jane (Clement) Haviland, was b. at Rye, May 25, 1740; d. at Oblong, or probably Haviland Hollow, 25 of 11 mo., 1786; license to marry Mary Pell. They were m. March 27, 1759. She d. Oct. 24, 1760. His surety was James Haviland, and hers Peter Myer of Harlem.  Issue:  256\u00a0 Caleb, b. Oct. 13, 1760, is said to have d. young; but he was living at date of the will of Mary Pell, his grandmother, April 18, 1772.  James Haviland (90) m., second, Anne or Nancy Honeywell, daughter of Israel and Jemima (another memorandum says Phebe, not Jemima) (Pinckney) Honeywell, b. March 13, 1744. Their license to wed was dated Aug. 26, 1762; his surety being Ebenezer Haviland, M. D., and hers James Breasted, merchant of New York, and the marriage took place on Sept. 5, 1762.
