Felix G. Ashbrook

FELIX G. ASHBROOK, distiller; P. O. Cynthiana; was born near Cynthiana, April 1, 1824; son of Aaron and Sallie (Veach) Ashbrook. He a native of
Virginia, born in 1794; was a farmer and came with his father to Kentucky at an early day, dying in 1855; she, born in Harrison County, Ky., in 1796,
and dying in 1848. They had seven children, three sons and four daughters, Felix G. being the oldest son. Aaron, the father of subject, began life
in moderate circumstances, but by industry and economy acquired a handsome property. He gave to his children before his death about 450 acres, and
divided by will 486 more, in addition to another farm of 230 acres which was to be sold and proceeds divided among the children. Mr. Ashbrook,
our subject, began life as a farmer, and has continued that honorable occupation ever since. In 1871 he was elected Mayor of Cynthiana, which
position he filled acceptably to his fellow citizens. Dec. 26, 1848, he married Elizabeth Warden King, born in Harrison, May 16, 1830, daughter
of George and Sarah B. (Garnett) King. Mr. Ashbrook and wife are members of the Baptist Church (Missionary), and he is an A.F. & A.M., a Knight
Templar and a Democrat.
