Mr. Edward D. Hurst, the subject of this sketch, moved with his family, consisting of a wife and two sons, from Carlisle, Ky., to this city four years ago. Prior to moving to Cynthiana he was engaged in the electric light and lumber business. January 1, 1898, he started two meat markets, which are the finest in the city. One is located on Pike street, near the Commercial Hotel, and an excellent view of the interior is shown in this issue: the other is situated at the corner of Pleasant and Walnut streets. He handles all kinds of fresh and smoked meats, and fish and game in season. Mr. Hurst is a prominent member of the K. P.
