When Josiah Jacob Whiteker was born on November 30, 1779, in Baltimore, Maryland, his father, John, was 26 and his mother, Ann, was 26. He married Susan Ellen Honey and they had 12 children together. He then married Rachel Anderson on August 6, 1847, in Bourbon, Kentucky. He died on August 21, 1850, in Harrison, Kentucky, at the age of 70, and was buried there.
