When William Stewart Haviland was born on March 22, 1823, in Harrison, Kentucky, his father, Robert, was 26 and his mother, Mary, was 24. He married Mary Elizabeth Whitehead and they had two children together. He then married Mary Ellen Jones and they had three children together. He died on March 13, 1914, in Cynthiana, Kentucky, at the impressive age of 90, and was buried there.
